In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Charles City Comets football team scored a nice 19-6 win over the Waterloo East Trojans.

In their next game, the Comets play the Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA) in a 3A District 2 challenge, on Friday, September 26. Charles City will attempt to improve on its 3-1 season record. The Bobcats go into the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 28-21 non-league loss to Solon (Solon, IA).

The Trojans (0-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Decorah-North Winneshiek (Decorah, IA). The Vikings go into the 4A District 2 challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Decorah-North Winneshiek was dropped by Western Dubuque (Epworth, IA), 35-17, in a non-league challenge.
