In Friday's league game, the Murphysboro Red Devils (Murphysboro, IL) football team overcame the visiting Massac County Patriots (Metropolis, IL), by a tally of 35-21.

In their next game, the Red Devils battle the Herrin Tigers (Herrin, IL) in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio game, on Friday, September 26. Murphysboro will attempt to better on its 2-2 season record. The Tigers come into the outing with a 0-4 record after their 42-0 league loss to Carterville (Carterville, IL).

With the defeat, Massac County drops to 2-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host Harrisburg (Harrisburg, IL) to battle the Bulldogs in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio contest on Friday, September 26. The Bulldogs enter the contest with a record of 1-3. Harrisburg lost 52-21 in their recent non-league contest against Mater Dei (Breese, IL)
