The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Shelby-Rising City Huskies (Shelby, NE) and the visiting Mead Raiders (Mead, NE), observed Shelby-Rising City's football squad defeat Mead by a count of 28-14.

The Huskies now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Arcadia/Loup City for a non-league contest on Friday, September 9. Shelby-Rising City will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 46-0 non-league win over North Central (Bassett, NE). The Rebels record now stands at 1-1.

Coming up next, the Raiders encounter the Johnson-Brock Eagles (Johnson, NE) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 9. Mead will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record.
