The Comets (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Newton (Newton, IA). The Cardinals enter the non-league contest with a 5-2 record. In their last contest, Newton was knocked off by Indianola (Indianola, IA), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Toreadors encounter the South Tama County Trojans (Tama, IA) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, September 4. Boone will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Trojans go into the battle with a 1-3 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to West Liberty (West Liberty, IA).
