In Wednesday's non-league battle, the host Parry McCluer Fighting Blues volleyball team scored a tight 3-2 triumph over the Alleghany Mountaineers.

The Fighting Blues (3-3) will now prepare for their battle against Bath County (Hot Springs, VA). The Chargers come into the Pioneer battle with a 8-5 record. In their last battle, Bath County nudged Highland (Monterey, VA), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Mountaineers clash with the Radford Bobcats (Radford, VA) in a Three Rivers battle, on Tuesday, September 27. Alleghany will attempt to advance on its 0-10 season record. The Bobcats come into the battle with a 5-4 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA).
