The Heppner Mustangs held off the host McLoughlin Pioneers volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Monday's non-league test.
The Mustangs now have a 13-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Irrigon for a 2A Blue Mountain test on Thursday, September 28. Heppner will confront a Knights team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Grant Union (John Day, OR). The Knights record now stands at 8-4.
The Pioneers (2-8) will now prepare for their test against Riverside (Boardman, OR). The Pirates enter the 3A Eastern Oregon test with a 2-10 record. In their last test, Riverside was nudged by Nyssa (Nyssa, OR), 3-0, in a league test.
