In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Varela Vipers volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the St. Andrew's Episcopal Academy Lions.
The Vipers (6-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Lake Worth Christian (Boynton Beach, FL). The Defenders come into the non-league challenge with a 9-9 record. In their last challenge, Lake Worth Christian went down by Pine (Stuart, FL), 3-1, in a league test.
The Lions now sport a 0-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Glades Day for a non-league test on Saturday, September 27. St. Andrew's Episcopal Academy will face a Gators squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Clewiston (Clewiston, FL). The Gators record now stands at 6-7.
