The crowd at Friday's league battle between the Wilmington Wildcats (Wilmington, IL) and the host Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL), saw Wilmington's football team triumph over Reed-Custer by a final score of 41-7.

With the win, Wilmington advances its record to 5-0 on the season. The Wildcats host Herscher (Herscher, IL) to play the Tigers in a Illinois Central Eight battle on Friday, October 4. The Tigers go into the battle with a record of 3-2. Herscher won 31-30 in their recent league battle against Streator (Streator, IL)

The Comets now own a 0-5 record. They play next when they travel to Coal City for a Illinois Central Eight battle on Friday, October 4. Reed-Custer will play a Coalers team coming off a 27-13 league win over Peotone (Peotone, IL). The Coalers record now stands at 4-1.
