In Thursday's non-league contest, the Sumter County Panthers (Americus, GA) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Westover Patriots (Albany, GA), by a margin of 15-3.

With the triumph, Sumter County moves its record to 3-19 on the year. The Panthers host Berrien (Nashville, GA) to play the Rebels in a 2A Region 1 contest on Tuesday, October 4. The Rebels come into the contest with a record of 11-12.

In their next game, the Patriots play the Deerfield-Windsor Knights (Albany, GA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, October 3. Westover will attempt to move on its 5-11 season record. The Knights come into the contest with a 8-13 record after their 6-5 non-league loss to Westwood (Camilla, GA).
