The West Mecklenburg Hawks held off the host West Charlotte Lions volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Friday's non-league test.

The Hawks now have a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Mecklenburg for a non-league test on Tuesday, October 3. West Mecklenburg will confront a Vikings team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 11-5.

The Lions (2-10) will now prepare for their test against Berry (Charlotte, NC). The Cardinal enter the non-league test with a 1-10 record. In their last test, Berry was nudged by Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, NC), 2-0, in a non-league test.
