Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the South Iredell Vikings (Statesville, NC) and the visiting Maiden Blue Devils (Maiden, NC), observed South Iredell's volleyball team hold off Maiden by a count of 2-1.

The Vikings (4-5) will now prepare for their battle against Davie County (Mocksville, NC). The War Eagles go into the non-league battle with a 7-3 record. In their last battle, Davie County tipped North Iredell (Olin, NC), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

The Blue Devils now hold a 7-10 record. They take the field next when they host Bandys for a non-league contest on Thursday, October 2. Maiden will meet a Trojans team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to North Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 11-5.
