Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Signal Mountain Eagles (Signal Mountain, TN) and the host McMinn County Cherokees (Athens, TN), observed Signal Mountain's volleyball team top McMinn County by a tally of 3-0.

The Eagles (16-11) will now prepare for their contest against Sale Creek (Sale Creek, TN). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 21-8 record.

The Cherokees now own a 1-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Walker Valley for a AAA District 5 test on Tuesday, September 30. McMinn County will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Brentwood Academy (Brentwood, TN). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-18.
