The Polk County Wolverines soccer squad scored 5 points and held the visiting Smoky Mountain Mustangs to 1 in the Wolverines non-league victory on Wednesday.
The Wolverines now hold a 4-1 record. They play next when they host Madison for a non-league bout on Thursday, September 5. Polk County will play a Patriots squad coming off a 5-1 non-league win over McDowell (Marion, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 5-3.
With the loss, Smoky Mountain moves to 4-3 on the year. The Mustangs host Owen (Black Mountain, NC) to play the Warhorses in a non-league bout on Monday, September 9. The Warhorses go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Owen lost 6-4 in their recent non-league bout against Asheville (Asheville, NC)
