Alabama High School Football - Russell County holds off Wetumpka

September 6, 2024: Wetumpka, AL 36092

The Russell County Warriors (Seale, AL) football tipped the host Wetumpka Indians (Wetumpka, AL), 21-17 in Friday's league outing.

The Warriors now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Percy Julian for a 6A Region 2 outing on Thursday, September 12. Russell County will clash with a Phoenix squad coming off a 22-20 league win over Stanhope Elmore (Millbrook, AL). The Phoenix record now stands at 2-1.

With the defeat, Wetumpka drops to 1-2 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Pike Road (Pike Road, AL) to clash with the Patriots in a 6A Region 2 outing on Friday, September 13. The Patriots come into the outing with a record of 1-2. Pike Road won 40-19 in their recent league outing against Rehobeth (Dothan, AL)
