Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Dakota Cougars (Macomb, MI) and the visiting Lakeland Eagles (White Lake, MI), observed Dakota's volleyball team hold off Lakeland by a count of 2-1.

The Cougars (1-4) will now prepare for their contest against L'Anse Creuse North (Macomb, MI). The Crusaders go into the Macomb Area - Red battle with a 8-3 record. In their last battle, L'Anse Creuse North was edged by Utica Eisenhower (Shelby Township, MI), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Eagles now own a 5-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Lyon for a Lakes Valley battle on Tuesday, September 9. Lakeland will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Dexter (Dexter, MI). The Lions record now stands at 9-4.
