Flag Football Game Preview: Los Alamitos Griffins vs. Huntington Beach Oilers

Two dominant signal callers in Ava Seedorf and Roxie Shaia are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Los Alamitos Griffins will venture away from home to square off against the Huntington Beach Oilers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Los Alamitos has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Huntington Beach will arrive with 15 straight wins.

On Wednesday, Los Alamitos was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 19-14 to Fountain Valley. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Griffins came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Barons are ranked 392nd).

Meanwhile, Huntington Beach got themselves on the board against Marshall on Saturday, but Marshall never followed suit. They blew past the Barristers 23-0. Considering the Oilers have won 11 matchups by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Los Alamitos' loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Huntington Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 19-1.

Los Alamitos suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Huntington Beach in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Griffins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
