Softball Recap: Blacksburg Bruins vs. Hidden Valley Titans

Blacksburg stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on the Hidden Valley Titans with a sharp 19-2 victory. The win was nothing new for Blacksburg as they're now sitting on six straight.

Clara McMahon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (she also didn't allow any walks). McMahon has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. McMahon was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Lindsey Polan was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Molly Lyon, who went 1-for-2 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs.

On Hidden Valley's side, ALYANA DRAGOO made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with a home run.

Blacksburg's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Hidden Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Cave Spring the next time they take the field. Blacksburg will host Cave Spring at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while Hidden Valley will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
