Baseball Game Preview: Letchworth Legends vs. Geneseo Blue Devils

The Letchworth Legends will head out to face off against the Geneseo Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Letchworth is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Letchworth made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Pavilion, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Legends fell just short of the Gldn Gophers by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday.

Julian Hunsinger was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Logan Gath, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Le Roy hit Geneseo with a four-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils lost 12-5 to the Oatkan Knights.

Oren Ray made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Geneseo's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Granger, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Letchworth's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Geneseo, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Letchworth couldn't quite finish off Geneseo in their previous matchup back in March and fell 5-3. Can the Legends avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
