Soccer Recap: Somerset Gets the Win

Somerset proved they can win big last Monday (they won by four) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Sayre Spartans. This was payback for Somerset, who suffered a 1-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Somerset's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three matches. As for Sayre, they moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Somerset will challenge South Laurel at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sayre, they will welcome Western Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
