Soccer Recap: Kathleen Comes Up Short

Kathleen lost against Lake Gibson back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Kathleen Red Devils might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Lake Gibson Braves an easy 5-2 victory. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 496th, while the Braves are ranked 79th).

Kathleen is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9. As for Lake Gibson, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3-2 record this season.

Kathleen will take on Angeline Academy of Innovation in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kathleen is facing Angeline Academy of Innovation at the right time seeing as Angeline Academy of Innovation is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lake Gibson, they will be home for the holidays to greet Fort Meade at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
