Imari Humphrey leads a balanced attack to beat South Gwinnett

Recap: Newton Rams vs. South Gwinnett Comets

The Newton Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 43-23 margin over South Gwinnett. 43 seems to be a good number for Newton as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Newton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Imari Humphrey, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sanaa Tripp, who scored four points along with seven steals and five rebounds.

Newton now has a winning record of 8-7. As for South Gwinnett, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Newton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Brookwood at 6:00 p.m. Brookwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Newton is ranked 88th). As for South Gwinnett, they will head out on the road to face off against Parkview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
