Having struggled with four losses in a row, Cannon turned things around against Providence Day last Monday. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 3-1.
While Cannon might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Providence Day scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 18-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Cannon's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Emmi Coppa, who had 15 digs and two aces, and Reagan Pinkerton, who had seven digs, six aces, and two blocks. Coppa has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 13 times she's played.
They weren't the only good servers: Cannon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Country Day School made easy work of Covenant Day on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Charlotte Country Day School walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-21, 25-19.
Charlotte Country Day School's win came from a few key players Cannon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ella Standish, who had 12 digs and two aces. Lillian Youakim also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.
Charlotte Country Day School's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Cannon, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Cannon has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Charlotte Country Day School struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
