Softball Recap: J.H. Rose Has No Trouble Against Jacksonville

J.H. Rose barely beat Jacksonville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rampants put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 17-3 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Rampants, who have now won nine games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Amira Abulatifa and Aniyah Hardy did most of the damage at the plate: Abulatifa went 3-for-4 with five runs, two doubles, and one triple, while Hardy went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. What's more, Abulatifa posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Alford, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

J.H. Rose was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .442. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jacksonville only posted a batting average of .258.

J.H. Rose's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Jacksonville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. J.H. Rose will host Northside - Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rampants are facing the Monarchs at the right time seeing as the Monarchs are stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Jacksonville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
