Basketball Recap: Gulf Pointe Latin Comes Up Short on the Road Against Central Christian

Gulf Pointe Latin had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Central Christian Saints, falling 53-31. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Gulf Pointe Latin lost, don't look at Rebekah Thompson. Despite the final result, she shot 42% from the field to rack up 13 points.

Looking ahead, Gulf Pointe Latin will challenge Covenant Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Gladiators their first taste of in-conference action this season. Central Christian will be paying especially close attention to Gulf Pointe Latin's contest: after Gulf Pointe Latin faces off against Jones Christian Academy, they'll take on Central Christian again at 5:30 p.m. on December 19.
