Baseball Game Preview: Elkhorn Elks vs. Badger Badgers

The Elkhorn Elks will square off against the Badger Badgers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elkhorn will be strutting in after a win while Badger will be coming in after a loss.

Elkhorn will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Verona on Saturday. The Elks skirted past the Wildcats 10-8. The Elks haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Tage Jensen made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Derrik Beckstrand was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Romeo Morales, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Badger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Mukwonago, falling 13-2. Badgers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Indians since Friday.

Badger's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Elkhorn, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
