Softball Recap: North Branch's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

North Branch's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Millington Cardinals. The victory was some much needed relief for the Broncos as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Addilynn Merser (2029) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Addison Cobb (2026) was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Walker (2028), who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Branch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

North Branch's record now sits at 16-12. As for Millington, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Branch beat the Cardinals by a score of 7-5 later that day.
