Baseball Recap: Shamrock Takes a Loss

If Shamrock was feeling good fresh off their 21-7 takedown of White Deer last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Irish lost 21-3 to the Wellington Skyrockets on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Irish in their meetings with the Skyrockets: they've now lost eight in a row.

Shamrock saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Whittington, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Trent Baggett, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Shamrock's loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Shamrock will challenge Memphis at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wellington, they will venture away from home to face off against San Jacinto Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
