Basketball Recap: Western Dubuque Takes a Loss

Western Dubuque lost against Linn-Mar back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Western Dubuque Bobcats were outmatched by the Linn-Mar Lions and fell 76-39. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Lions are ranked fifth).

Western Dubuque dropped their record down to 4-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Linn-Mar, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western Dubuque will face off against Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Linn-Mar, they will venture away from home to challenge Dubuque Senior at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Linn-Mar knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 matchups -- so hopefully Dubuque Senior likes a good challenge.
