Football Game Preview: Newton South Lions vs. Weston Wildcats + Official Tickets

The Newton South Lions will take on the Weston Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Newton South didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Cambridge Rindge & Latin, but they still walked away with a 14-10 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Weston). They were the clear victors by a 45-19 margin over Boston Latin on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Wildcats have posted against the Wolfpack since September 22, 2017.

Weston's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Newton South, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Newton South and Weston were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, but Newton South suffered an agonizing 7-6 loss. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
