Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Columbia Academy

Columbia Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Everything went their way against the Bowling Green Buccaneers as they made off with a 14-0 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Trent Buckley made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Stuart, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Roman Lawrence, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
