Recap: Calhoun City Wildcats vs. Eupora Eagles

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Calhoun City Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-6 victory over Eupora at home. Calhoun City's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Jamajah Mayes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 224 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. Mayes is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavian Pittman, who rushed for 79 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries.

Calhoun City pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Coffeeville and 2-8 Palmer (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.5% over those games). As for Eupora, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Calhoun City will face off against North Side at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Side is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Eupora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
