Basketball Recap: Hardin County Piles Up the Points Against Carrier Mills-Stonefort

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hardin County). They claimed a resounding 61-29 win over the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Wildcats. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Hardin County found their leader in sophomore Bryden Banks, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for Banks. Another player making a difference was Landon Fricker, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points.

Hardin County was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Hardin County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Carrier Mills-Stonefort, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Hardin County Cougars face off against the Galatia Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Carrier Mills-Stonefort, they will head out to challenge Century at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
