Softball Recap: Coxsackie-Athens Falls Short of Fonda-Fultonville in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Coxsackie-Athens can now relate to. They fell just short of the Fonda-Fultonville Valley Hawks by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. That makes it the first time this season the Riverhawks have let down their home crowd.

This is the second loss in a row for Coxsackie-Athens and nudges their season record down to 6-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Fonda-Fultonville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

As of now, neither Coxsackie-Athens nor the Valley Hawks have any future games scheduled.
