Basketball Recap: Enderlin Falls Despite Big Games from Kaitlyn Maasjo and Aspyn Schlecht

On Tuesday, the Enderlin Eagles came up short against the New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets and fell 56-44. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aspyn Schlecht and Kaitlyn Maasjo certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Schlecht went 7 for 17 on her way to 20 points, while Maasjo posted nine points. With that strong performance, Schlecht is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Buchholz, who put up seven points.

Enderlin's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for New Rockford-Sheyenne, their win bumped their record up to an identical 3-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Enderlin will venture away from home to take on Sargent County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for New Rockford-Sheyenne, they will challenge Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something New Rockford-Sheyenne surely won't give up without a fight.
