Football Recap: Central of Coosa County Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Central of Coosa County can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 50-12 loss at the hands of the Luverne Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Tigers are ranked 58th).

Central of Coosa County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Javon Thomas, who threw for 241 yards and a pair of TDs, and Corey Thom, who picked up 58 receiving yards and one score.

Khi Harris was a one-man wrecking crew For Luverne. as he rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown. Those 93 rushing yards gave Harris a new career-high.

Central of Coosa County has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Luverne, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Central of Coosa County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Luverne, they will face off against Long at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
