Murphysboro waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Centralia Orphans. For the Red Devils, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 victory the Orphans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Blaire Fox made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Murphysboro got a massive performance out of Macey Alexander, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Alexander has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Campebell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Murphysboro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Murphysboro's record now sits at 14-16. As for Centralia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-5.

Murphysboro wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-3 defeat against Frankfort on the 14th. As for Centralia, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Mt. Vernon on the 14th.
