Basketball Recap: Midland Classical Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Midland Classical Academy had won four straight home games dating back to last season and Mariah Davis did her part to make it five on Friday. The Knights came out on top against the Southwest Raiders by a score of 53-42 for which the team can thank Davis, who went 9-for-18 en route to 24 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Midland Classical Academy's points.

Brianna Chavez was another key player, putting up eight points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Midland Classical Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Southwest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Midland Classical Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-35 defeat against Springtown on the 22nd. As for Southwest, they have also already played their next matchup, a 47-18 loss against Itasca on the 22nd.
