Lake Highland Prep had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks by a score of 63-50. That's more bragging rights for the Highlanders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Toby Lane and Urijah Newkirk certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Lane posted 12 points along with seven assists and three steals, while Newkirk went 5-for-11 on his way to 16 points. Lane is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 55% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Shannon McArthur, who put up five points.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Highland Prep will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Windermere at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they will face off against Haines City at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
