Pope John Paul II extended their winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Trey Pearson. The Pope John Paul II Knights narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Briarcrest Christian Saints 72-70 thanks in part to Pearson, who went 9 for 12 on his way to 25 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2023.

The team also got some help courtesy of Osby Cavin, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 19 points. The match was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Pope John Paul II's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Briarcrest Christian, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-2.
