Football Recap: Malad Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Malad and West Jefferson squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Malad had to settle for second. They and the Panthers were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 21-20 defeat. The Dragons' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Malad lost, don't look at Holdan Tubbs. Despite the final result, he rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns. Drake Morrison helped out on the ground, rushing for 88 yards.

Mac Hall had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 127 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry for West Jefferson. Hall has become a key player for the Panthers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Malad's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for West Jefferson, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Malad does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Jefferson, they will square off against West Side at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
