Softball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest managed to slip by Garden City the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Grizzlies lost 14-4 to the Buffaloes on Thursday. The Grizzlies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buffaloes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mia Touchatt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Kam Stubbs was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Northwest and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Garden City, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Coincidentally, Northwest and Garden City will both be playing Great Bend the next time they take the field. The Grizzlies will head out to face the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Buffaloes will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th.
