It was a good run, but Franklin unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Pleasant Grove Eagles by a score of 3-2. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-21 in the first set.

Franklin wouldn't go down easily and took Pleasant Grove into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-17, 25-16, 15-25, 15-13.

Franklin's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 17-9. As for Pleasant Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Franklin has already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Cosumnes Oaks on the 14th. As for Pleasant Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Campolindo on the 11th.
