Dinuba and Selma are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Dinuba Emperors are taking a road trip to face off against the Selma Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dinuba will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Dinuba barely beat Washington Union the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Dinuba's pitchers stepped up to hand Washington Union a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Emperors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.

Maranda Requejo made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlee Orozco, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Kiley Gomez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Dinuba hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Selma didn't have quite enough to beat Tulare Western on Wednesday and fell 6-5. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Moriah Preciado made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Selma's loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for Dinuba, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Dinuba suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Selma when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can Dinuba avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
