Baseball Recap: Escalon Comes Up Short

Escalon's last matchup with Linden could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Escalon Cougars came up short against the Linden Lions, falling 10-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered against the Lions since April 2, 2022.

Escalon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lorenzo Texeira, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Texeira also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Escalon and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Linden, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Escalon will welcome Downey at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Linden, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ripon Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ripon Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
