Basketball Recap: Philip Davie's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Calvary Christian over Urbana

Calvary Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Urbana Hillclimbers. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 670th, while the Hillclimbers are ranked 274th).

Calvary Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Philip Davie, who posted ten points along with six boards and four steals. With that strong performance, Davie is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeeke Wylie, who earned ten points.

Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Urbana, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Calvary Christian has already played their next contest, a 65-24 defeat against Spencerville on the 14th. As for Urbana, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-41 win against London on the 14th.
