Softball Recap: Prescott Has No Trouble Against ALA - Gilbert North

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Prescott brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They blew past the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles 13-1 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Badgers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Mariah Smolnikar was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Belle Mazon also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Prescott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Prescott's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for ALA - Gilbert North, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Prescott will welcome Bradshaw Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for ALA - Gilbert North, they will square off against Poston Butte at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. ALA - Gilbert North will need to watch out since Poston Butte has now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
