Nelson County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They skirted past the Buffalo Gap Bison 12-11. The Governors haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

George Knight was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Knight was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.
