Baseball Recap: Sycamore Find Success

Sycamore hadn't done well against Lakota West recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Aviators came out on top against the Firebirds by a score of 7-2. This was payback for the Aviators, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ty Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.

At the plate, Brodie Mays was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Ried Rowland was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
