South Lakes has gone a perfect 8-0 against Chantilly recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Seahawks will take on the Chargers at 6:30 p.m. South Lakes is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Last Tuesday, South Lakes made easy work of Dominion and carried off an 18-6 win. Considering the Seahawks have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Nylah Osman was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Fiona Shaw, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
South Lakes kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Chantilly, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They skirted past Fairfax 3-1.
Rin Kelley was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season.
South Lakes pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chantilly, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3.
Chantilly's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South Lakes has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. It's a different story for Chantilly, though, as they've only averaged .349. Will they be able to contain South Lakes' hitters?
South Lakes was able to grind out a solid victory over Chantilly when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 11-7. Do the Seahawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
