Football Recap: Shadow Creek Beats Sam Rayburn for Their Second Straight Win

Shadow Creek won the last time they faced Sam Rayburn and Tavis Coleman did his part to make sure it happened again. The Sharks breezed past the Texans to the tune of 62-0 on Friday for which the team can thank Coleman, who threw for 227 yards and four TDs while completing 90% of his passes. Shadow Creek is undefeated when Coleman posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.

Jacier Pace was another key player, rushing for 93 yards and one score on only five carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Shadow Creek, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of B.J. LaFell, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Shadow Creek and bumps their season record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. As for Sam Rayburn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Shadow Creek will square off against Fort Bend Bush at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 900 yards in their previous games. Sam Rayburn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
